Watercolour

I decided to do some watercolour work, I love the unpredictability of this medium. This work is of my wife Anne drinking a cocktail while on holiday. On 140lbs "Not" watercolour paper about 13"x12". I did a contour drawing before painting.

Still making slow progress on my latest work of Anne walking down an alley in Keswick. Christmas is getting near and I hope to get quite a lot of art work done between Christmas and the New Year. Will keep posting.

Back from holiday

Sorry no posts for a while I have been away on holiday in the beautiful Dominican Republic. I have been back a week now and done no painting till today, when I made some more progress on the painting of the alley in Keswick. It still has a long way to go. I will keep posting as I make further progress.

New acrylic

This week I started a new work as I had come to a stop on the gamekeeper portrait. I will pick it up again when I get back from my holidays in a couple of weeks. The new work is on a recycled canvas I had painted a landscape on, it has a good texture which adds interest. It is of my wife Anne walking down an alley in Keswick. I have a long way to go yet but I like the start.

Start of a new portrait

The group of artist I paint with are to stage an exhibition some time in spring of 2010. The theme is "Spirit of the North" with this in mind I have made a start on this portrait of a Yorkshire Dales game keeper I know it is in acrylics on canvas. I will make further posts as I progress

Having just graduated I have had a summer break from painting. Now I am back in the fold with a group of artists I am a member of. This is a watercolour of a scene from "Oliver" at a birthday party I went to the other weekend.
